Dry Scrubbers
The idea for dry scrubbers dates back to the late 1950s. It was pioneered in the United States as an enhancement to dry injection of trona ahead of a fabric filter. Initially, the systems focused on using soda ash solutions as the absorbent, but it was soon discovered that a lime slurry produced great results. Today, lime is exclusively used for power applications and Clarage’s forced draft and induced draft fans are commonly used to move flue gas in the systems.
